Why It Matters
Potential Health Effects of Limited Airflow
Mouth breathing isn’t just annoying—it can be a leading indicator of other health issues
Blood Pressure: A Silent Killer
Poor sleep quality and intermittent hypoxia are linked with elevated blood pressure over time.
Snoring: A Red Flag for Sleep Apnea
Open-mouth sleep can narrow the airway and increase the likelihood of snoring, disrupting deep sleep.
Dry Mouth → Plaque & Irritated Gums
Mouth breathing can dry out saliva, the body’s natural defense against cavities and gum disease.
Shortness of Breath = Shortened Endurance
Mouth breathing makes workouts feel harder and less efficient at steady effort.
Designed to Support Healthy Airflow—Naturally
These magnetic nasal refill tabs gently lift and open the nasal passages, helping promote smoother, more consistent breathing through the nose. By reducing airflow resistance, they support better oxygen intake during sleep, exercise, or daily activity—without discomfort or medication.
Sleep That Feels Truly Restorative
Improved nasal breathing can mean fewer nighttime disruptions, less snoring, and a calmer sleep rhythm. Wake up feeling clearer, more refreshed, and ready to take on the day—without the grogginess that often follows poor airflow overnight.

Do the magnets go inside your nose?
Yikes! This is America, not Dante’s Inferno. Intake sits comfortably on the outside of your nose. What about for my workouts?
Absolutely!
Nose breathing during activity is more important than you may think. Nose breathing has been proven to boost oxygen absorption, lower your heart rate, optimize performance, and so much more. Intake is suitable for the vast majority of sports, activities, and training regimens. We designed Intake specifically with both athletes and the average gym-goer in mind, and we’re happy to say that we hold up exceptionally well for everything from football to yoga to motocross. The only sports that might compromise Intake’s wear time are those with substantial facial contact, such as grappling or boxing, and water sports. To learn more about the importance of nose breathing, we recommend checking out our science page or simply googling "the importance of nose breathing". You may be surprised how much you learn about why it's so essential to your health!
Why Nasal Breathing?
Why should I wear this?
Breathing exclusively through your nose has been scientifically proven to be superior to breathing through your mouth, particularly during strenuous exercise. So why have we all heard “in through the nose, out through the mouth” (also, why do we all still breathe through our mouths anyway)? Because, for most people, exclusively nose-breathing during increased heart rates wasn’t possible before Intake. During sharp nasal inhales, our nostrils suck themselves shut, making comfortable and sustainable breathing extremely difficult. Intake keeps your nose open, ensuring you can breathe deeply without strain, giving you access to all the oxygen you need. It’s a humble improvement on human evolution, if we do say so ourselves.
What's the cost difference?
Why do we cost more?
Because we are better. It’s pretty obvious — Nasal Strips are basically bandaids. They’re flimsy, single use, and since you’re here reading this you probably agree… they don’t work that well. Intake is made from high quality Nylon-12 plastic, neodymium magnets,, and includes a case, applicator, multiple band sizes, and an optional subscription for even greater savings. Even with these huge differences — If you’re on our subscription plan, you’re only spending a couple more cents per use.
Why magnets?
No, they're not just shiny
The magnetic aspect of Intake is simply the best way we could find for the product to hold on to the nose without being a single strip (like a common nasal strip). We tried velcro and all sorts of things to keep the rigid band stuck on the nose, but we found that it's actually vital to use magnets. The two magnets on the end of the band attract to the dome shaped disc inside the Tab creating two points of contact on either side of your nose. This allows the magnets to hold tight, while creating a sort of 'floating' property about the Band. The nose moves a lot more than you may realize, so we needed the Tabs to stay stuck while the Band was able to 'float' on top of them. Trust us- we put a lot of thought into this little thing!
Intake vs. Nasal Strips
Intake doesn’t fall off
Intake’s two-part design allows longer wear time than nasal strips—it won’t come off while you’re sleeping, and it won’t come off while you’re exercising. Here’s how the design helps Intake achieve longer wear: when you wear a nasal strip, you’re relying on the adhesive to both open your nose and stick to your skin. Because the adhesive has to do two jobs, it loses its effectiveness fairly quickly. With Intake, the adhesive just has to stay stuck, while the Band does the work of opening your nose.
Intake opens your nose wider
Intake can open your nose up to 70% wider than disposable nasal strips. Intake is a strong, rigid Band that comfortably holds your nose open to a fixed point using your choice of our six available sizes. Nasal strips, on the other hand, collapse upon inhale and don’t hold your nose open as wide.
Intake doesn’t pull your skin off
Nasal strips used to pull the skin off the bridge of our nose… they were painful and left our nose red and irritated. Intake won’t do that. The Band that we use pulls from medical grade adhesive that gently holds to the sides of your nose. The way that the magnets hold to the tabs keeps the pull centered, so your skin isn’t fighting the adhesive the whole time you’re wearing it.
How Long Does It Take to Work?
Give your body some time
Exercise:
It takes time for your body to adjust to a new breathing method. We’ve found that 3 to 4 full workouts with Intake seems to be the magic number for the body to begin adjusting to nasal breathing. After that time, you’ll see a substantial difference in your endurance and recovery. You’ll reap the most benefits with continued use. It helps to practice first without Intake: try incorporating nose-breathing into a couple of workouts to build physical recognition of nasal breathing, and then try it with Intake. If you’re trying Intake, it’s probably because you have been mouth-breathing your whole life. Give your body a chance to adjust and be patient!
Sleep:
Similar to our advice for exercising with Intake, seeing results with your snoring or sleep quality can also take some time. Some people see results after the first use, and some may take several nights to see the difference. This is because your body has been used to breathing through its mouth for so long that it may need some time to adjust to an open nose. Our advice is to keep it up! The more you let your body adjust to nose breathing, the less it will mouth breathe.
Are you having trouble with the Tabs sticking?
Are you having trouble getting the tabs so stick?
In this FAQ I will provide some info that has helped me with my skin and getting the best out of my wear of tabs and bands that is relevant across all skin types.
To understand our tabs is to understand our skin. Most of the populace uses skin screens daily. Sunscreen is a protective barrier. By design, sunscreen is one of the main things between our skin and the harsh environmental conditions that can affect our skin negatively and permanently. Sunscreen makes it a significant challenge to stick or hold onto the skin. Sunscreen is a very oil-based lotion that adds to the oils our skin already produces. The best way to ensure that any protective or treatment products stand between your skin and the tabs is by removing that protective layer and then cleansing the skin. Meaning we wash our face twice. I know this is an extra step, but trust me! It makes a huge difference.
Step 1: Double-cleanse the skin to remove sunscreens, topical lotions, makeup, etc. Then, cleanse the skin.
Step 2: You can use Micellar water wipes to remove any excess oils left in the pores
Step 3: Apply Tabs
The first wash removes the protective product, makeup, or anything lying on top of our skin. The second wash cleans our skin. The second wash will remove any excess oils, bacteria, and impurities that get clogged in our pores. Once we have the skin clean, we can go through with our alcohol wipes and dry out the area where we place our tabs. When we apply our tabs this way, we leave nothing behind on our skin that will irritate or get in the way of the adhesive letting go of the skin used to.
Removing our tabs is a little different. I've worn our product a great deal and spent many hours experimenting to see what the tab and our skin can handle. We know what the tabs can hold, so we can now talk about what our skin needs to be able to wear it frequently.
When removing the tabs, we are going in reverse from the application steps.
Step 1: Peel off tabs.
Step 2: Use a water wipe to remove any leftover adhesive from Tabs.
Step 3: Cleanse skin and apply skincare routine, hydrator, moisturizer, or mask.
These few steps may take a few minutes longer but will get you all-day results with your tabs and bands.
